St. Augustine Parish 150th Anniversary Celebration

Minutes of Coordinating Committee Meeting Tuesday, September 17, 2002

.Dick McClung will draft letter of announcement/invitation of the 150th Anniveresary Celebration 12:00 noon Mass by Thursday and e-mail to Sue Konig who fill fine tune it. It will be printed on Parish stationery. These announcements need to be mailed to local dignataries and local parishes immediately.
Announcements will also be given to oldest or only child in St. Augustine School. (Joe DeMatteo will handle.)

.Announcement statement to be sent to media for publication to make them aware that we are having this event.

.Sue Konig will compose a verbal announcement on the 150th Anniversary Celebration 12:00 noon Mass on Sunday, October 20,2002, with reception to follow, which will be read by the commentator at the beginning of every mass and announced by the celebrant at the end of every mass starting the weekend of September 21/22.

.Sue Konig will be in touch with her contact at Channel 12 regarding filming the opening mass. She will also contact the editor of the local news section at the Journal News to send a reporter/photographer to do a piece on the opening mass.

.Janet will get the list of north em Westchester churches from Joan in Parish Office and also compose the dignataries list.

.Carol Heller will contact Gov. George Pataki' s secretary to invite him to opening mass on October 20.

.Dick McClung will e-mail Fr. George Rutler background to Sue Konig who will write up a short announcement so local parish bulletins and the Comminity Bulletin Board on Cablevision can announce the upcoming lecture on November 12. Sue will work with Joe DeMatteo. After 150th opening mass, Fr. George Rutler lecture announcement will be posted in church vestibule. This will be standard procedure for all upcoming events.

.Anthony will put a poster in the church vestibule announcing the opening mass on October 20.
