Successful Celebration | Invitation

St. Augustine Parish was founded on October 24, 1853.  Today, October 20, 2002, 149 years later, we the people of this blessed parish gathered together, we were joined by our neighbors, friends and dignitaries to start the one year celebration.

Archbishop Foley came to be with us from Rome and gave the homily.
Nino Di Simone, friend of St. Augustine Church, and the artist who created our magnificent outdoor Stations of the Cross, and other beautiful art that we have at the church, came from Italy to celebrate with us.  He brought with him another sculpture to be put in the Garden of the Stations of the Cross.
Our Pastor, Monsignor Hilary Franco, along with Father Dunn, Father Joachim and Deacon Slominski celebrated Mass with the help of Josephine Milani and Anthony Pettinato.  The talents of our Music Director, Emily Grober, the Church Choir, and the Children's Choir filled our beautiful church with beautiful music.
At the reception that followed we mixed with our friends and family, and remembered those people almost 150 years ago who who started our religious community in Jesus Christ.
We thank God for each other, and for our parish.
.
All parishioners of St. Augustine Church are invited to attend the Special NOON Mass commemorating the beginning of our year-long celebration honoring the 150th anniversary of our parish.

The main Celebrant will be the Most Reverend John P. Foley, DD, President of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, Vatican City. This will be an especially spirit-filled celebration.
