 "A SEASON OF SAINTS"
A LECTURE BY FR. GEORGE W. RUTLER

St. Augustine Church, Tuesday, November 12 at 7:30 PM in the Parish Hall

We are pleased to welcome our guest speaker, Fr. George W. Rutler, author, retreat master and pastor.

Fr. Rutler will discuss misconceptions about saints and examine what a saint really is. He will also explore the meaning of a "universal call to holiness."

Fr. Rutler is the pastor of the Church of Our Savior in New York City. For thirteen years his weekly television program has been broadcast worldwide on EWTN (Eternal Word Television Network). Fr. Rutler has long been associated with Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity, and other religious orders, as a retreat master. He lectures and gives retreats in many nations, frequently in Ireland and Australia.

Raised in New Jersey and New York in the Episcopal tradition, Fr. Rutler was an Episcopal priest for nine years. He was received into the Catholic Church in 1979 and ordained at the hands of His Eminence Terence Cardinal Cooke in 1981. He holds degrees from Dartmouth, John Hopkins, and the General Theological Seminary, as well as from universities in Rome, Paris and the University of Oxford.

He has published fourteen books on theology, history and cultural issues, and the lives of saints, and also one book on sports, as a member of the US Squash Racquets Association.
