Ash Wednesday February 13, 2002
On this day the Church invites us to receive a cross of ashes on our foreheads as a sign that during the coming Season of Lent we will make sincere efforts to cleanse our lives of sin and to discipline ourselves through prayer and fasting.
The ashes are made from the burned-up palms from last year's Palm Sunday.
Ash Wednesday : Ashes will be distributed at the 6:30 and 8:30 AM Masses, 12 noon and 2:45 PM Services, and 7:30 PM Mass.
More about Ash Wednesday
On Tuesday evenings (March 5, 12, 19 & 26) there will be a Mass at 7:30 PM in the Church followed by Conversations with the Pastor, a Lenten Series entitled: "The Gospel of Matthew: Gospel of the Kingdom."
On Thursdays February 14, 21, 28, March 7, 4, 21, at 7:00 PM.  At Compline and Benediction  Fr. Dunn will lead a Meditation on the Prodigal Son from St. Luke's Gospel, Chapter 15.  Since Lent is a journey of each of us who are the prodigal sons nd daughters, make this devotion a pat of your Lenten practice.
On the Fridays of Lent, there will be Stations of the Cross at 7:30 PM.
Confessions will be heard on Saturday Mornings from 9:00 to 10:00 AM
Take a moment from your busy schedule and try to attend all or at least one of the listed programs.
The best Penance during Lent is daily participation in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and daily Holy Communion.

Please remember to pray daily for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and the religious life.
