| For centuries most people didn't
have the Bible to read. It wasn't until March of
1455 that
Johann Gutenberg put the first printed Bibles on
sale. In fact, he invented the printing press in
order to mass produce the Bible.
Before the printing press made books
more available only a small minority of people could
read, no less afford a hand written book.
Today we not only have beautiful,
wonderful books to read and own, but we have the
internet. It is so easy to read God's Words, so
easy to relearn the things that can positively effect
our daily life. One link on the right,
CCC-TV presents short
video commentary, another offers you
Today's Readings.
You can search the Catechism, and best of all, you can
read
The Bible.
Following the daily readings is a
wonderful learning experience, it will become a personal
journey for you. It will help you build a closer
relationship with God. The Today's Readings is a
great tool, but The Magnificatoffers
even more that the readings, it offers the thoughts of
Saints and noted priests, a week ago I was personally
helped by the words of Pope Benedict XVI, whose words
gave me a better understanding of the message of the
different readings of the day.
The Vatican (The
Holy See) website is
full of information, you can read the Pope's addresses
and so much more. Here are a couple of the links
you'll find: VATICAN SECRET ARCHIVES, VATICAN LIBRARY,
VATICAN MUSEUMS, VATICAN PUBLISHING HOUSE, and, at lest
a dozen more links to information.
God is calling you, He calls each
of us to Him. There is a reason for your
uniqueness, the Bible is where that reason can be found.
The other links and books may help you understand things
a little better, help you put them in perspective for
yourself. |
